The following are search engines that can help you find whatever you are looking for online.  Remember that search engines need to index web sites on a regular basis in order to see new content (or even web sites).  Choose which one you prefer based upon the search results, overall appearance and speed.

Google

A well known, market leading search engine which is the homepage for many internet users. Google offer many specialist search services that you may not be aware of including: -

Yahoo!

Yahoo! is another search engine giant and a popular starting point for many web users.
Yahoo offer additional specialist searches including: -

Dogpile

Dogpile is a more colourful search engine (yet it still loads quickly) that offers you results from several of the "most popular" search engines in one place.  Visit Dogpile. DogPile is one of ou favourite engines here at Images.

Web Directories

DMOZ

DMOZ is the name for the Open Directory Project (ODP).  The site is the largest human-edited directory online and is maintained by a large community of volunteers.  DMOZ powers the results of several search engines' directories, including Google.  Visit DMOZ

Specialist Directories

The following is by no means an exhaustive list of specialist directories.  These examples are some of the more well know but many more can be found by using a search engine.
  • Kelly Search
    A business directory specifically for the industry/Manufacturing sector
  • Applegate
    Applegate is an internet directory for industry, manufacturing and technology in the UK and Ireland.
  • Up My Street
    A local area directory which is useful for finding thing near to you.  It is especially useful for property movers.
