Web Essentials
FireFox
The alternative web browser based upon the Mozilla browser. Most people browse the internet using AOL's web browser or Microsoft's Internet Explorer simply because they do not realise there is anything else. FireFox is personal browser of choice here at The Images Group. We love it's tabbed browsing and "find while you type features" and would we'd highly recommend it to those concerned with privacy and pop-ups.
Thunderbird
Also from the Mozilla team, Thunderbird is the alternative email programme.
Thunderbird is a fast and powerful alternative to Outlook Express, with powerful spam filters and remote image blocking.
Flash
A browser plug-in that allows vector graphics and animations to be viewed on web sites which make use of this software. The Macromedia Flash player comes installed by default on most computers these days. However, an up-to-date version can be found at: - http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/.Acrobat
Adobe's Acrobat Reader.Acrobat allows you to view PDF files which have been created using powerful desktop publishing applications. PDF's are ideal for the distribution of brochures, manuals, etc online because all the text and graphics are contained in the one file. Get the latest version of Acrobat by visiting: - http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
