Content Management Systems

Why do you need CMS?

A Content Management System allows our clients to update their web sites with fresh content. A true CMS will be integrated with your web site and you will simply visit your web site and log-in in order to make changes.

Like the name suggests you will be in charge of the "content" on your web site, not your web designer. For example, you can update just a news page or every page on your site; you will even be able to add new pages. Rather than needing to prepare the content for an update, get in touch with the web designer and then wait for them to actually do it - you will be able to do it yourself. Just think of the money you can save and now you can update your website a much as you want, as frequently as you need.

A Content Management System for your web site will ultimately produce the following benefits:
  • Your web site will stay upto date.
  • Visitors will be more likely to return, knowing they will see something new.
  • You will take your web designer out of the equation, until you need a more technical update.
  • In-house updates means you will reduce the time and costs of an update.
  • Smaller updates and spelling corrections can be carried out immediately.
  • You can delegate work on your web site to others within your organisation.

Will you need web design training?

No, although you will need training in the use of the Content Management System.

Different CMS solutions vary in their size and complexity. We can tailor our training session to suit your level of knowledge and the CMS solution chosen for your web site.

You do not need to know HTML and other web design languages. The Content Management System will be present you with a screen (within your web browser) where you will find with controls that are familiar those found in any word processor. CMS streamlines and simplifies the update process for you by allowing you to add new content to your site with familiar controls.

Web Based CMS Systems

We have a number of web-based solutions that have been a success with clients. After logging in through a secure password protected area you will be given access to your content pages. Here you will use a WYSIWYG  (what you see is what you get) editor similar to what you may see in Microsoft Word. Updates are stored on your webserver's database and the changes are viewable immediately.
