Gung Hay Fat Choy | Happy New Year
Posted by James in Just for Fun on February 3, 2011
Following closely on the heels of Groundhog Day we have the Chinese New Year, maybe a good time to reset those resolutions and make a new start.
Its certainly a better time of year than January 1; we can see a little more light in the sky in the morning and in the evening, and even the plants in the garden are starting to stir and spring into life.
This could be a tough year for a lot of people, not only in the UK but worldwide.
Spare a thought for the Aussies – not the cricket team – but for those poor souls who have had crocs, sharks and snakes swimming where their shrubbery used to be. Not to mention those in the Middle East who are going through some fairly troubled times. In this era of why me? there are many folks out there who just roll up their sleeves and get on with life.
In this first day Chinese year of the Rabbit, I wish you all health and prosperity and a good helping of the indominatable spirit we see displayed by folk going through a hard time every day.
To you all I give a tip of the hat.

What’s Movember?
Well, for one month men across the world will be doing their best to turn back the clocks to the 70′s by growing a moustache to support the fight against prostate cancer.
This year the guys at Images will be joining the cause joining thousands of Movember UK participants to grow the Mo and raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity. If you like to support us in this hair-raising scheme, we will be posting details on this blog soon.
FACTOIDS:
Only men have a prostate gland.
It is the size and shape of a walnut.
It lies underneath the bladder and wraps the urethra
The prostate gland can get bigger with age and may press on the urethra cauisng problems with passing urine.
Prostate cancer mainly affects men over 50 and in Britain, Afro-Carribean men are 3 times more likely to develop prostae cancer than white men.
There is no preventative cure although diet and lifestyle may be important in protecting against the disease.
This month just go with the Mo!
